Our client approached us with an especially perplexing assignment.
Execute the photography and art design / production to enhance an
otherwise dull point-of-purchase display.
The product:
Pedal Pad - the guitar player's pedal board.
Pedal Pad, designed and manufactured by MKS Professional Stage
Products allows guitar players to customize their own accessory
pedal set-up. Independent sections of the bottom tier can be raised
to meet the the angle pitch of the top tier, allowing longer pedals
to rest across both surfaces.
MKS initially asked us to create a simple point-of-purchase brochure
to be placed in a rack beside the Pedal Pad product in the retail
environment... in this case, music stores who sell instruments and
accessories.
The creative team immediately noticed that the seven aluminum plates
supporting the petal accessories were anything but attractive...
deflating the overall appearance in displaying this product on a
shelf, surrounded by the competition.
The challenge:
How to enhance a desirable, yet somewhat cold and unattractive
guitar player's accessory... and turn a simple product brochure into
a magnetically eye-popping display providing simple step-by-step
instructions, too.
The solution:
We discovered an opportunity to combine a brochure and POP display.
We hid the pedal plates with crack-n-peel, adhesive backed pages
exploding with color and excitement. Each plate features our
anti-hero, the guitar player who struggles with organizational issues
on stage. He has no pedal layout and he's a mess. But his girlfriend hooked him up with Pedal Pad for a hassle-free performance
every time. Tier One supplied the killer photography and graphics,
capturing the heart and soul of our star in the making. Rock on
DUDE!
